What's your favourite thing about your job?

Learning about the community through conversation and research! Meeting members and chatting with whoever comes through the doors is one of the best parts of working at the Chamber.

What Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce Pillar do you most align with?

I most align with Advocacy. I aspire to create a difference in my community through policy changes so that all people are protected and supported by legislation. I recently graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a major in Human Rights and a double minor in Women and Gender Studies as well as Rhetoric, Writing, and Communication. Both my practicum and capstone paper focused on disability legislation pertaining to supports for people with intellectual disabilities.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy going for coffee walks with my friend and our dogs, playing tennis, and baking. Otherwise my main passion is travel - my most recent trip was a university exchange term in Denmark where I was also able to travel to England, Sweden, Germany, Malta, and Iceland!

What's your favourite thing about your job?

As I'm joining the team for the summer, I enjoy being put into new experiences with new people and elements and being brought outside my comfort zone!  Each new person and experience helps me acquire new skills and will help me grow individually and professionally.

What Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce Pillar do you most align with?

I most align with Community. As a student who is set to start at Red River College inn the fall, it is important to me to acquire the skills to connect with my community as the people in our community are the most important. Being connected to the people and community is a vital skill that I'd like to gain over the summer.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time I am often unleashing my creativity on a canvas or onto paper with either paint or pencil. Or you may see me buried in a good book with a cup of tea in hand. I also enjoy going on walks and enjoying the nature in my neighborhood.
