About Us

Started by two brothers Paul and David Bobbee in Arborg, Manitoba, Midlake Specialty Food Products has been in operation since 2000.

Midlake Specialty Food Products specializes in dehulling of hempseed with two facilities in operation. We were the main toll processors for Hemp Oil Canada between 2000 and 2014, till they setup their own facility. We started in a 1500 square foot building, processing 800 lbs per day in the year 2000. In 2007, Midlake moved its operations to a 20,000 square foot food grade facility in Arborg. This facility is able to process 10,000 lbs per day. In 2018, we added toasting/roasting equipment to our facility to fulfil customer requests for toasted/roasted products. In 2017, Midlake constructed a new facility in Arborg’s industrial sector. With upgrades in machinery, at our newest location, we are able to process 30,000 lbs of hemp nut per day to accommodate quick turnaround for all our customers. With a new and larger facility, Midlake is capable of processing for the growing need of the hulled hempseed market

Midlake Specialty Food Products has been Organically Certified since 2000, GSFI Certified since 2014, and Kosher since 2011.
