Minister Rochelle Squires Terry Shaw
The federal government is imposing a carbon tax program that will be implemented through the provinces. What is the carbon tax and what is the benefit? Plus, some industries have taken strategic steps to reduce their carbon footprint, what can we learn from them and what have they done? The Carbon Tax will affect us all, increase fuel prices, shipping costs, cost of goods etc. how can you limit this impact and what steps can you take to offset your carbon footprint?
We are pleased to have the Hon. Rochelle Squires, Minister for Sustainability and responsible for the made in Manitoba Carbon Tax Plan, join us to introduce the Plan, what it is, how it will be implemented, planned outcomes and the effect on business. We will also learn from Terry Shaw, Executive Director of the Manitoba Trucking Association on their industries technological advances to reduce their consumption and ultimately their carbon footprint and the positive outcome for their members.
This will be a great event to kick-off our 2018 Speaker Series - bring a guest and introduce them to the Assiniboia Chamber community.
