    Business Excellence Awards

  • The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce (ACC) is proud to present the 2024 Business Excellence Awards, created to celebrate businesses in their achievements, their commitment to excellence and contribution to overall economic growth of West Winnipeg.

    This year the awards will be presented at our Annual General Meeting: May 16, 2024. 

     

    Eco Leadership Award

    Key Sustainability Initiative: Identify and describe one significant sustainability initiative or project implemented within the past year that demonstrates a positive impact on the environment.

    Measurable Impact: Provide measurable data or evidence showcasing the impact of the identified initiative, such as reduced carbon emissions, energy savings, waste reduction, or other relevant environmental metrics.

    Innovation and Creativity: Optionally includes how the initiative’s creativity addresses environmental challenges and promotes.

     

     

    Young Entrepreneur of the Year

    Key Entrepreneurial Impact: Recognizes a young entrepreneur (Individual) for their substantial impact on the community through the introduction and management of a business operation. Emphasis on business innovation, positive youth image contribution, creativity, and the provision of viable products and services.

    Age Criteria: Nominees must be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of nomination.

    Business Control and Experience: Nominees must demonstrate substantial control over the business, particularly in terms of strategic decision-making, and the organization must have been in operation for at least one year.

     

     

    Business of the Year

    Industry Leadership and Achievements: Recognizes a business for exemplary leadership within its industry, showcasing outstanding achievements, innovations, and impact. Serving as a role model for other organizations within the Chamber Network, demonstrating excellence and setting a high standard for achievement.

    Nomination Criteria:

    • Demonstrated accomplishments and milestones achieved within its industry. 
    • Evidence of leadership in adopting innovative practices, setting industry standards, or introducing successful products and services.
    • Measurable impact on the industry, such as increased market share, improved industry standards, or contributions to industry growth.
    • Nominees must have maintained an ACC Membership for 2 years or longer and have demonstrated substantial involvement.

     

    Community Builder Award

    Community Impact Acknowledgment: Recognizes a business for making a significant impact in the community by fostering social and economic growth and empowerment. Acknowledges contributions through employment opportunities, volunteering initiatives, or environmental protection efforts.

    Nomination Criteria:

    • Demonstrated an increase in the number of community employees.
    • Active engagement in volunteering and cooperation in community activities.
    • Advancement of community welfare, including positive contributions and responses to challenges

     

    Not for Profit of The Year

    Mission Fulfillment Recognition: Celebrates a Non-Profit organization within the West Winnipeg community for its outstanding fulfillment of mission, goals, and/or objectives, making remarkable contributions to the community's well-being in social, cultural, physical, economic, and ethical aspects.

    Nomination Criteria:

    • The nominee must demonstrate notable fulfillment of the organization's course, mission, goals, and/or objectives.
    • The organization should have a positive impact on the community's well-being.
    • The organization must be in operation for at least one year.

     

    Innovator of The Year

    Innovative Excellence Recognition: Celebrates a business/organization for setting itself apart through trailblazing, groundbreaking initiatives, and transformative practices. Recognizes the establishment of new standards and meaningful innovation in business operations, product development, and service delivery, ultimately enhancing the lives of customers and the West Winnipeg community.

    Nomination Criteria:

    • Introduction of innovative, successful business ideas, products, and/or services that significantly improve customer experience, satisfaction, and overall value.
    • Display of transformational leadership that positions the organization ahead of its peers.
    • Implementation of significant improvements in business processes and operations.
    • Introduction of innovative strategies aimed at improving employee welfare, leading to substantial increases in productivity.

    The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce acknowledges that we gather on ancestral lands, Treaty One Territory, traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Lakota and Dene Peoples, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. Our drinking water comes from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, in Treaty Three Territory.
